1998 Sculpture

A dancing couple in granite, in two parts, on the square in front of Lillestrøm station.

Enstad won an open competition for the commission. The two figures are sawn and carved from a granite block of about five metres and depict a dancing couple; the paving shows the movement from one position to the other. The jury felt the sculptures evoked meeting and parting, poetry, drama and sensuality.

The information comes from an overview of artworks in Lillestrøm and a town walk guide; no public collection or KORO record has been found, and the commissioner and exact dimensions are not confirmed.
